Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how BuiltDaily ("BuiltDaily," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the BuiltDaily iOS application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

1. The short version

We do not operate servers that store your health data.
We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal or health information.
We do not require an account, email address, or any sign-up.
All data the App generates stays on your device or in Apple's HealthKit (which is controlled by you and Apple, not us).

2. Information the App handles

2.1 Apple Health (HealthKit) data

With your explicit permission, the App reads the following data types from Apple Health on your device:

Workouts
Step count
Active energy (calories)
Walking, running, cycling, and swimming distance
Flights climbed
Heart rate and resting heart rate
VO₂ Max
Body weight
Dietary water
Sleep analysis
Apple Stand Hours

The App also writes the following data types to Apple Health, but only when you take an action that creates them:

Workouts you complete in BuiltDaily
Water entries you log in BuiltDaily (and removes them from Apple Health if you delete the entry)

HealthKit data is governed by Apple's Health permission system. You can review and revoke any of these permissions at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → BuiltDaily or in the Health app under Sharing → Apps.

Per Apple's HealthKit policy: We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or other use-based data mining purposes other than improving health, fitness, or medical research, and we do not sell or share HealthKit data with any third party.

2.2 Data created inside the App

The App stores the following on your device using Apple's local storage frameworks (SwiftData):

Workout templates and custom exercises you create
Workout sessions, sets, reps, and weights you log
Water entries and quick-add preferences
Goals (steps, water, active minutes)
App settings (units, theme, accent color, tab order, enabled metric cards)

This data does not leave your device. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party. If you uninstall the App, this data is removed by iOS.

2.3 What we do not collect

Your name, email address, phone number, or other contact information
Your IP address, device identifiers, or location
Any HealthKit data on a server
Any analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or behavioral usage data

The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

3. iCloud and Apple services

If you have iCloud Health enabled, Apple syncs your HealthKit data across your Apple devices. This is managed entirely by Apple and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to your iCloud data.

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. App Store downloads, purchases, and crash reports (if you have opted in to share them with developers) are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy terms. We may receive aggregate, non-identifying App Store analytics from Apple (for example, total downloads or App Store impressions), which we cannot link to any individual user.

4. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

5. Your rights

Because we do not collect or store your data on our servers, requests for access, deletion, or portability are best handled directly through:

The Apple Health app (for HealthKit data)
Deleting the App from your device (for App-generated data)
iOS Settings (for HealthKit permissions)

If you live in a jurisdiction that grants you specific privacy rights (such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA) and you believe we hold information about you, please contact us at hello@builtdaily.app. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

6. Security

Because the App does not transmit your data, the security of your data depends primarily on the security of your iOS device. We recommend keeping your device locked with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID, and keeping iOS up to date.

7. Third-party links

The App may link to external resources (for example, the App Store). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
